Bar Drake

Sink back in time to the Prohibition-era where speakeasies conveyed the excitement of defying the law. Bar Drake, located inside the lobby of San Francisco's famous Sir Francis Drake Hotel off Union Square, transports guests back to this time and completes the experience with 1920s-inspired cocktails.

Bar Drake evokes the hotel's Prohibition-era history in its sleek décor. A dramatic antiqued-mirrored back bar is the focal point of the Bar Drake, arching up to the lofty lobby ceiling. An impressive display of scotch and American whiskies lines the back-lit shelves, with selections as old as 80 years on offer.

Master mixologist Jacques Bezuindenhout has created a cocktail list for the Bar Drake that complements its glamorous feel, showcasing many of the bar's fine whiskies. He has also updated some bar menu classics such as the Sazerac, Rob Roy and Manhattan. Signature cocktails include:
  • Bar Drake Manhattan - Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Port, Angostura bitters and maple syrup
  • Tommy Gun - Tullamore Dew Irish Whisky, Grand Marnier shaken with apricot jam, lemon juice and fresh ginger
  • Chamomile Bliss - Skyy 90, Chamomile tea, Orange bitters, lemon juice and organic agave nectar
With seating for 36 guests, the Bar Drake offers a classy Union Square destination in a truly historical setting.
